Medved and Grlić Radman: We condemn any attempt by Serbia to deny historical facts
Croatian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Veterans Tomo Medved condemned Serbia's attempts to distort facts and relativize its responsibility for war crimes in Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, urging the neighboring country to face its role in the 1990s aggression. Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Gordan Grlić Radman emphasized Croatia's commitment to truth, international law, and European values, calling on Serbia to help resolve the issue of missing persons, as Croatia is still searching for 1740 missing individuals 30 years after the Homeland War. Both ministers reacted to statements made by Serbian Minister of Information and Telecommunications Boris Bratina, which they deemed unacceptable and provocative. They criticized Serbia's narrative of avoiding responsibility for its past, highlighting that Croatia was a victim of aggression. Grlić Radman also pointed out Serbia's non-alignment with EU foreign policy regarding sanctions on Russia and solidarity with Ukraine as a contrast to its rhetoric. Croatia reiterated its commitment to truth, international law, and constructive dialogue.
