Anušić in Paris with French counterpart Lecornu on defense package
Croatian Minister of Defence Ivan Anušić met with French Minister of Armed Forces Sébastien Lecornu in Paris to discuss a significant defense package, 'ReArm Europe/Readiness 2030', which aims to invest €800 billion in defense over the next four years. Anušić stated that while rearmament is necessary, it is not as 'panicked' as it might seem, emphasizing that there is time for preparation. Croatia is particularly interested in acquiring medium-range anti-aircraft systems and plans to finalize the procurement of 30 Caesar howitzers by the end of the year. The delivery of short-range anti-aircraft systems to Croatia is expected to be completed by the end of 2025. Discussions also covered the modernization and future technological upgrades for Croatia's Rafale fighter jets.
