Michelin's Special Edition Red Guide for Istria Released for Second Time
Michelin has released a special edition of its Red Guide dedicated exclusively to Istria for the second time. This publication, usually reserved for major gourmet destinations, underscores Istria's growing importance in the culinary world. The guide includes recommendations for restaurants, highlighting two new additions from Umag, Buščina and Badi. It also features 16 top Istrian wineries and olive oil producers, recognizing Istria as the world's leading region for extra virgin olive oil. The Green Guide section covers key Istrian locations, with the Euphrasian Basilica and the frescoes in Beram church receiving top star ratings. Michelin's stringent inspection criteria, focusing on ingredient quality, preparation skill, creativity, and value, are emphasized. The guides are printed in 15,000 copies and distributed for free.
