Kvarner: More Tourists, Fewer Overnight Stays in October
In October 2014, Kvarner saw a 10% increase in tourist arrivals to 103,841, but a 1% decrease in overnight stays, totaling 306,177. From January to October 2014, the region hosted 2.1 million tourists and recorded over 12 million overnight stays, representing a 1% decrease in tourists and a 3% decrease in overnight stays compared to the same period in 2013. During October, German, Austrian, and Slovenian tourists were the most frequent visitors, primarily staying on the Opatija Riviera, Krk, and Lošinj, mostly in hotels. For the January-October period, German, Slovenian, Austrian, and Italian tourists accounted for the most overnight stays, with Krk, Lošinj, and Rab, along with the Opatija Riviera, being the most popular destinations. Private accommodation was the most utilized, followed by hotels and camps.
