IN MEMORIAM: Gojko Šušak - A Pillar of Croatia's Independence
On the 22nd anniversary of the death of war minister Gojko Šušak, a commemoration was held at Mirogoj cemetery in Zagreb. Šušak, who passed away on May 3, 1998, was a key figure in Croatia's defense and independence. He served as Minister of Defense from 1991 until his death, contributing significantly to strategic planning and diplomacy. His famous quote, "Mr. President, the task is done!", became symbolic of Croatian victories. He received numerous state honors and was posthumously promoted to Staff General.
